The popular jet skiing anime racer Kandagawa Jet Girls are making its international debut this year and you can pre-order a limited edition version.
Made by the same company that made the popular Senran Kagura series, Kandagawa Jet Girls is the new multimedia project from Marvelous that was released in Japan in January 2020. The game is being developed by Honey∞Parade Games and XSEED Games is helping bring this game to the west.
The game follows the story of Rin Namiki and Misa Aoi as they rise through the ranks of the popular all girls sport, Jet Racing. The sport consists of a team of two members, the Jetter who drives the watercraft and the Shooter who shoots a water. The goal being to knock the rival teams off their watercraft and reach the finish line first.
You can control the Jetter, who uses boost and drift to manoeuvre the race course. At the press of a button, you can switch characters and aim down your water gun to knock off the competition via power ups as the Shooter. All when racing across 8 race courses with multiple circuit variations, so even if you are playing the same course it is always different.
The game comes with various modes to play, all of which offer something unique and fun in the game.
You will also be able to follow the stories of the other six rival teams in this mode, you will learn about this game’s cast of characters and their reasons for being racers.
Here you can race against CPUs in a combination of a traditional Time Trial mode and Versus mode, like something you would find in other racing games such as Mario Kart or Forza. You can either use this to practice a race course or try and get the best time on the leaderboards.
You can also customise the race to your liking from the number of laps, the course, the time of day (morning, day or night), to even the difficulty of the CPUs to give yourself a challenge.
Play online with up to four other players in a competitive ranked game mode or in a casual game mode that you can play with friends.
Kandagawa Jet Girls also comes with character customisation, at this moment in time we do not know if you can create your own character from scratch, however, the level of customisation is deep enough so that it is highly likely you can make your own character from scratch.
You can custom certain areas of your characters including skin tone, along with being able to choose the hair colour using an RGB scale. There are also 60 costumes to choose from, with more coming via DLC. The customisation doesn’t stop there, as you can even customise your water craft with up-to 50 parts, including decals and colours via an RGB scale as well.
Kandagawa Jet Girls has a limited edition bundle that can be pre-ordered and comes packing with not only the game, but also a full coloured 64 paged art book and a 2 disc CD soundtrack. With summer rolling around, this can be the perfect game for us to get outside during the indoor summer.
Kandagawa Jet Girls will be available with a physical ‘Day 1’ edition on PlayStation 4 for $59.99. The standalone game will be available digitally on the PlayStation Store and Steam for $49.99.
