Interview With Rohan – Captain of Dota 2 Team Necrosis

Recently, we had the opportunity to interview a Killian, who goes by his tag Rohan. He is the captain of the Dota 2 Team Necrosis and we talked to him about his professional Dota 2 experience and what it takes for a small team to rise up from the ashes.

Q: What got you into e-Sports?

A: When I was younger, I used to go play games with my friends. One day my friends found DOTA, the mod on Warcraft 3 (I was awful, so lets just not go there). After a while, I began to grasp the concepts of a MOBA, then when I made the switch into Dota 2 I seriously considered going as my passion.

Q:Necrosis gaming, who and why?

A: When trying to join any competitive Dota team, there are a plethora of websites you can use. Necrosis is an organization with plenty of teams in CS;GO, Dota, and LoL, and when I first got the email from them, I was happy to try out, and eventually become captain. Since then I recruited the rest of my team : Steven(Strawberry), Kaelen(Emotionalboys), Daniel(ExDeath), Skyler(LEGENDARY).

Q:What do you do for the team?

A: Being the captain, I keep the team in check, settling disputes and making sure that everyone on the team is getting along with one another for good team synergy. I as well sign us up for tournaments such as Faceit, and CVO. I also coordinate practice times, which can be difficult with everyone’s schedules.

As a player, I am the position 1 or the hard carry. I take us home in the late game, build farm, and generally get the most kills past minute 45. My comfortable carries include Gyrocopter, Phantom Lancer, Weaver, as well as Morphling.

Q: Looking forward to any tournaments right now?

A: One comes to mind, actually very soon. It’s called LS fall open Dota 2 tournaments, and it has a prize pool of 300 USD. Its this Saturday (September 26th, 2015). I’m not sure if they will have a stream but I personally will be, so feel free to follow my twitch to keep up to date for all Necrosis updates.
