E3 2018: Fortnite Officially Announced For Switch; Releases Today

Following the many rumors leading up the announcement, Epic Games’ Fortnite was finally given the official announcement for the Nintendo Switch.

Fortnite was leaked multiple times, starting with the reveal that Fortnite, Overcooked 2, Dragonball FighterZ, and Paladins would be playable on Nintendo’s Show Floor at E3. Now, not only have we received it’s official announcement, we learned that the game was released today for the Nintendo Switch.

It is not yet known if Fortnite will feature cross-platform play with Xbox One and PC gamers, as nothing was announced regarding this particular feature. Right now, Xbox One and Playstation 4 gamers can play with PC gamers, but not cross-console, so we would expect an announcement regarding the Nintendo Switch’s cross-platform capabilities should be announced in the coming weeks.

Fortnite is available for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices.
