E3 2015: Sony Press Conference Recap

E3 2015: Sony Press Conference Recap

The Last Guardian – Japan studio has FINALLY re-revealed The Last Guardian, which will now be released for the Playstation 4, next year. The Last Guardian follows a the relationship between a boy and a bird-dog like creature. In the trailer, the duo attempts to escape a labyrinth maze and puzzle ridden landscape. While we haven’t seen too much gameplay in the trailer that was shown, The Last Guardian has shown some of the simple actions and reactions of each of the in-game characters. The game looks fantastic and I cant wait to see the game in person.

Horizon Zero Dawn – From Guerrilla games, developer to the Killzone franchise, comes a new action/adventure game in where you hunt a variety of robotic animals/dinosaurs. In this open-world experience, you hunt and figh off these amalgamations of flesh and robot creatures. Without a doubt this game sent shivers up my spine as I witnessed the beautiful animation and level design come together.

Hitman – Agent 47 is back ready to kick some ass. The new Hitman title will be set in different exotic locations for a refreshing and redefined assassination experience. While we were only shown a cinematic trailer, we could expect to see more of this game tomorrow during Square Enix’s E3 Press Conference

Street Fighter 5 – Two new characters, Birdie & Cammy, have been announced for Street Fighter V and will be included in the games final release when it launches later this year. While not much else was announced regarding this title, we were told to expect a beta for the game coming to the Playstation 4 and PC on July 23rd, 2015.

No Man’s Sky – No Man’s Sky took to the stage to show the audience some of the new features we can expect to see in arguably one of the most ambitious titles of the century. Shown in the live gameplay demo were the faction battles, beacon placements and exploration you would expect to see in the open-universe shooter.

Dreams – Artists and Gamers alike will want to stay tuned to this title as it gives players the creative freedom to design and animate to your hearts content; So much so that it may make any animation studio and film creator gush with envy. This game just brought me to tears in how the creative world will manipulate and evolve storylines and performances with this groundbreaking game. Using sandbox elements that can be manipulated and catered to your style, each player can create works of art and animation from the ground up. With a collaborative multiplayer experience, you can make works of artto share and distribute to the world.

Firewatch – A new survival game where you rely on only your wits and a unknown person via a walkie talkie to survive. The trailer has shown off some comical parts of what we believe to be the main story in the game and looks to create a mystery of the wilderness. More details are expected to be announced in the coming months.

Destiny: The Taken King – An all new expansion that will involve new abilities, new gear, and new enemies has been announced for the ever-so-popular game, Destiny. This expansion will take players to new heights & help get them the best gear to stop the new antagonist, Orix. Not much else is known about Orix other than you had killed his son in earlier parts of the game.

Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate – The next game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise will feature a new female protagonist who goes by the name of Evei frei. Sporting a sword cane, throwing knives and of course the iconic concealed blade featured throughout the series, the game is proving to be an excellent title for fans among the series.

World of Final Fantasy – An RPG chibi game that involves two new characters in the square enix franchise. This game will be an explorable fantasy much like the final fantasy games before it. About two siblings in the land of Grimoire, you can befriend monsters and familiar characters within the game. A mount system is shown as well where you can ride monsters and have them ride you if need be. A cute adaptation to the final fantasy series I’m sure everyone will fall in love with.

Final Fantasy 7 REMAKE – This has just BLOWN MY MIND!!! A remake of Final Fantasy 7 was just announced at E3. One of the most influential breakthrough games from the 90’s, that revolutionized RPG games; which has outsold every other Final Fantasy game to date will be making its way to the Playstation 4. You might recognize the characters from the movie Final Fantasy: Advent children, and if you haven’t; I suggest going and picking it up. It was a slight teaser without gameplay, but i imagine that the FF7 fans around the world right now are crying with tears of happiness.

Devolver Digital games – Four new games from Devolver Digital studios were announced and along with the announcements were a few short-clips of the games. The games: Eitr, Ronin, Mother Russia Bleeds, & Crossing Souls are all expected to hit the Playstation 4 first.

Shenmue 3 kickstarter – The Kickstarter just started during the Sony conference and is looking for us, the gamers, to help out make this game a reality. The first two games left off the series with an amazing storyline with no conclusion to follow up. Hopefully all of you excited readers out there will back up this third installment to finish off the games storyline.

Playstation Morpheus: – Sony has announced that their VR headset called Playstation Morpheus will support up to four player gaming. While we have no idea on which games will support this feature, Sony showcased a few of the upcoming games for the VR headset including Eve: Valkyrie, Rigs 3 vs 3 Battle Arena , World War Toons, & Wayward Sky. We might get to have these as a single console game experience for multiplayer games. I’m sure though, all your friends will have to have a Morpheus to play.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 was just announced and looks even better than what I expected from the Call of Duty franchise. Not only did it show the single player, but we also received a small taste of the multiplayer experience. To my surprise, the multiplayer gameplay didn’t look anything like a Call of Duty game and featured a more fluid style of combat.

Disney Infinity – Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic and Star Wars: Rise against the Empire will appear on the Playstation 4 with new figures and exclusive content before other consoles. Also, Boba Fett was also announced to be an exclusive figure for the Disney Infinity 3.0 set when it is released this Fall.

Star Wars: Battlefront – Mission mode just announced for all to experience an amazing star wars experience. Looking at the gameplay for survival mode, you and a friend can experience star wars to its utmost. The announcements for this game keep getting better and better and i hope you are pulling out the credit card and preordering this game now.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – Naughty Dog’s new adventure in one of the most thrilling action/adventure games is finally coming to the Playstation 4. Of course, I am speaking about Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. A live gameplay demo was shown at the event and we must say it looks absolutely gorgeous! In the trailer, we were shown a bit on what the new engine can accomplish including a fully destructible environment where bullets and explosions rip through the buildings and terrain. The ability to destroy landscape and props all throughout the levels makes this a cinematic gameplay experience.
