Dungeon Defenders: Awakened Release Date Revealed

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened Release Date Revealed

The epic return of Chromaric Games’ multimillion-selling co-op RPG Tower Defence series – Dungeon Defenders: Awakened has a date for when it will leave Steam Early Access. The full Version 1.0 release will see the debut of the Ancient Dragon and Goblin Mech bosses. It’ll also include the addition of new challenge maps, a new ‘massacre’ difficulty setting, a pure strategy mode, mixed mode and finally new pets.

Building on the franchises roots, Dungeon Defenders: Awakened was made from the ground up in Unreal Engine 4. A fusion of familiar and all-new elements, the franchise’s third entry contains an original story, updated visuals, revised mechanics, additional locations and fresh loot.

Players will return to Etheria and take command of one of four playable characters. These heroes are tasked with building formidable defences to slow the enemy down. Once the combat phase begins the heroes then join the fray, to bring the fight to the enemy with class-based skills and abilities.

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened v1.0 will feature six difficulty settings, ranging from Easy to Massacre, an imposing new difficulty with unique foes to overcome. There will also be a horde of varied game types, including Pure Strategy Mode, where the squad must rely solely on siege tactics to stem the tide of invaders.

Teams should also ready themselves for the unexpected in Mixed Mode, a chaotic variation that revamps the experience with randomized enemy spawns, transforming familiar battlegrounds into turbulent struggles to survive.

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened v1.0 strikes Steam on May 28th, 2020 for $39.99. The Nintendo Switch version will be available in Q3 2020, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One releases coming in Q4 2020. These console releases will come with new free DLC maps, equipment, pets, and a fifth playable hero.
