Destiny 2 or Destiny 2: New Light is an online only multiplayer first person shooter, incorporating elements of role-playing. Destiny 2 is free to play. The starting point for any game is having the right platform to play it on. Destiny 2 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows and Stadia. It will be available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X when they are released.
The next step for any game is seeing if there’s a possibility to unlock game keys for free. Soul gems earned through gamehag.com can be exchanged for real world prizes, including Destiny 2 game keys.
A new game can be daunting at first. Experience of the first Destiny is not essential to playing Destiny 2. Guided games allow players to search for clans that require additional players, but it is best to do the introduction first, even for gamers with experience of similar style games. Activities in Destiny 2 are divided between player versus environment and player versus player.
There’s an introduction mission in the Cosmodrome from the first Destiny (which is all players need to know about the first Destiny). Once that’s complete, the player finds themselves in the Tower. Play through one of the Destiny 2 campaigns before playing updated planets or the newest season to familiarise yourself with the world.
One of the longer campaigns is Red War, so it gives the player the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the game instead of making a total fool of themselves by diving right in. Warmind and Curse of Osiris are shorter campaigns for players who lack the time for a longer campaign.
Like other first person shooters, a headshot causes a lot of damage. Some enemies have a different weakness and won’t take any extra damage when aimed at the head. Be aware the headshot isn’t all it is cracked up to be in Destiny 2.
Energy weapons damage shields. If the player uses special weapons, they’ll be low on ammo but the special weapons deal out extra damage and may be required to take down an enemy’s shield. Take one primary weapon and one special weapon on campaigns.
Destiny 2 drops loot based on the player’s highest possible Power Level. This is based on how powerful the player’s gear is. Put items in the Vault instead of deleting because it can take hours to get back a deleted items that is later needed.
As the player gets used to playing, they’ll soon learn which items can be safely deleted and which should be kept. A player’s favourite weapons can be level upped to their current power level by sacrificing another weapon.
